Below are some photos of the projects created for the WWII/holocaust unit. Students who choose to build something have the choice of creating a 3-D model of a concentration camp or or the Annex where the Franks lived, or they can create a blueprint of a camp or the annex. In addition, they are required to write a paper that summarizes what life in these places was like -- describing a typical day.
Other choices for this unit final project include completing an online "scavenger hunt" to search for information about the Franks, or choosing a topic about WWII and researching it, creating a paper or presentation with the information.
The images below were taken after an activity to wrap up the WWII unit. Students were to write on the board a headline that they created based on an important event from the novel they read during the unit.
